Beary Happy Holidays (2026)

Bring your family to the Louisville Zoo this December for a festive celebration designed to beat the winter blues. The Zoo is decking out select areas as a winter wonderland complete with holiday decorations and special enrichment activities for the animals. Participate in a month-long scavenger hunt throughout the grounds—complete at least half to enter a drawing for Zoo-themed prizes. It's a fun way to explore and create lasting memories together. The celebration spans three special weekends, with December 19-20 offering an extra highlight: Santa and Mrs. Claus will be on hand from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to spread holiday cheer. Admission is free with your regular Zoo pass or membership, making it an affordable outing for families looking for seasonal activities. The Zoo will be open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., giving you plenty of time to enjoy the decorations, watch the bears and other animals experience their holiday enrichment, and soak up the festive atmosphere.
