Beary Happy Holidays (2026)

This December, the Louisville Zoo is creating a festive winter experience throughout its grounds with holiday decorations and special animal activities. Families can participate in a month-long scavenger hunt that spans the entire zoo—complete at least half to enter a drawing for zoo-themed prizes. The zoo's grizzly and polar bears and other animals will enjoy enrichment activities during three special weekends (December 5–6, 12–13, and 19–20), giving you multiple chances to visit and soak in the seasonal atmosphere. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be on-site December 19–20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., adding extra holiday cheer to your visit. Best of all, this celebration is included free with your regular zoo admission or membership, making it an accessible way to get the family out and enjoy the holidays together. This event works well for kids of all ages who enjoy animals, outdoor exploration, and interactive activities.
