Creatures of the Night: Screech Owl Prowl

This evening program invites families to explore the forest after dark and search for screech owls with experienced volunteer naturalists. You'll learn about these small but fascinating owls that inhabit the Bernheim grounds and listen for their distinctive calls that drift through the trees on summer nights. Led by naturalists Lindsay Nason and Butch Grantz, the experience focuses on spotting these elusive nighttime hunters in their natural habitat. The program runs from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., so plan for an evening outdoors. Admission is $15 for Bernheim members and $20 for non-members. Registration is required and must be completed by 4 p.m. the day before the event—call (502) 215-7155 to secure your spot. Please note that pets are not permitted. This is a great opportunity for kids interested in wildlife and nature to experience the forest after sunset.
