Fishing for Fossils at Fisherman's Point Hike
Guided fossil hunt along the riverbed—search for snails, crinoids, and giant corals with a naturalist.
Join a park naturalist for an hour-long exploration of the fossil beds at Fisherman's Point. You and your family will search for snails, crinoids, and some of the largest corals preserved in the area. This is a hands-on experience—bring along a deck broom and bucket to help uncover fossils from millions of years ago. The program meets at the Observation Deck and is perfect for kids who love nature and discovery.
Come prepared for walking on rocky terrain, so sturdy shoes are essential. The program is completely free to attend, though there is a $2 parking fee. It's a wonderful way to learn about your region's prehistoric past while getting outside and active as a family. For more details or to register, contact the park directly.
