Free Play Saturdays

Every Saturday at Playcosystem, a sprawling 17-acre natural playground within Bernheim Forest and Arboretum, children have the freedom to play on their own terms. Kids can explore, build, and use their imaginations with loose parts and natural materials scattered throughout the space—all designed to spark creativity and curiosity without adult direction. It's genuine, child-led play at its finest, completely free to attend. Parents and caregivers are welcome to stick around and chat with the Playcosystem staff, who are happy to discuss why unstructured nature play matters for kids' development. Whether your child is a builder, an explorer, or a daydreamer, this setting gives them room to be themselves. Admission is free, and the event runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., giving your family flexibility to drop in and stay as long as works for you.
