Open Air Studio

Calling all artists who love creating outdoors! This workshop invites painters, sketchers, and journal keepers to work alongside one another in the natural setting of Bernheim Forest and Arboretum. Rather than following formal instruction, you'll have the freedom to explore your own creative practice while surrounded by the landscape's beauty. Each session begins with a short guided hike to a scenic spot chosen by artist and naturalist Teresa Koester, where you'll settle in for several hours of uninterrupted creative time. This is a free program, though you'll need to register by 4 p.m. the day before attending. Participants must be at least 16 years old. Be ready to bring all your own materials and carry them in and out. Keep in mind that trail terrain changes seasonally and can be uneven or more demanding in places. Pets are not permitted.
