Revolutionary Threads
Temporary exhibition exploring daily life during the American Revolution at the Frazier History Museum.
Revolutionary Threads is a special temporary exhibition at the Frazier History Museum that explores the lives of Revolutionary War soldiers—both men and women—and the clothing they wore during the conflict. Created by the Daughters of the American Revolution's Transylvania Chapter, the exhibit features replica uniforms belonging to actual Patriot ancestors and tells the personal stories of real Kentuckians who fought for independence. The exhibition honors America's 250th anniversary while bringing history to life through authentic details of wartime experiences.
This exhibition recognizes the diverse roles women played during the Revolutionary War, from those who served on battlefields to nurses, spies, and those supporting the war effort at home. General admission is $16 per person. The museum is open Monday through Saturday from 10 AM to 5 PM, and Sunday from 11 AM to 4 PM, making it convenient for families to visit at a time that works for them. It's an engaging way for school-age children and adults alike to learn about an important chapter of American history through the lens of everyday people's experiences.
