Seeing in Space- The Art of Perspective

This three-part drawing course teaches young artists how to create realistic depth and dimension on paper. Over three weekly sessions, students explore the foundations of perspective—learning about vanishing points, horizon lines, and how to construct believable spaces. They'll practice drawing everyday objects like bottles and cylinders to understand how shapes appear in three dimensions, then apply these skills by sketching real architecture and interiors around the community. The class is perfect for kids who want to make their drawings look more convincing and lifelike. Sessions meet weekly on Wednesday afternoons from 3:00 to 5:30 PM at the Floyd County Carnegie Library Cultural Arts Center, and best of all, it's completely free. All you need to do is show up ready to learn and draw!
