Senior Sundays in September presented by Humana 2026

The Louisville Zoo is honoring seniors during three special Sundays this September, with free admission for anyone 60 and older. This is a wonderful opportunity for grandparents and older adults to enjoy the zoo without paying an entry fee—just arrive during regular zoo hours and present your age verification at the admission window. Beyond free entry, the zoo has planned activities designed around animal family dynamics. Visitors can participate in an interactive scavenger hunt using the GooseChase app on their smartphone or tablet, where they'll learn about the elder animals at the zoo and how they contribute to species conservation. Humana will also operate a hydration station from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Glacier Run Classroom, offering free water and cooling towels to help guests stay comfortable while exploring. Scavenger hunt participants will receive a giveaway from Humana.
