STEAM: Paper Airplanes

Does your child enjoy building things and experimenting with how the world works? This hands-on STEAM program invites elementary students to become junior aeronautical engineers. Participants will design, construct, and test their own paper airplanes while learning about the forces that make flight possible—lift, gravity, thrust, and drag. Through guided activities, kids will try different designs, make adjustments based on what they observe, and compete to see whose planes fly the farthest and fastest. This program combines creativity with problem-solving as students discover that engineering challenges can be both simple and engaging. Along the way, they'll practice measurement, observation, and critical thinking while working through real trial-and-error learning. It's a perfect introduction to STEAM concepts for elementary-aged kids who are curious about how things work. Best of all, admission is completely free.
