Wild Lights at the Louisville Zoo
Magical nighttime light displays at the Louisville Zoo.
Step into a glowing nighttime wonderland featuring handcrafted Chinese lantern displays at this year's Wild Lights festival. The event showcases an entirely new collection of lanterns organized into four immersive themed areas: Magical Forest, Magical Ocean, Pre-Historic Animals, and Wondrous Asia. You'll encounter larger-than-life sculptures of mythical creatures, giant sea animals, colorful prehistoric plants, and more—all designed with vibrant colors and intricate cultural craftsmanship. Nearly every display is brand new for 2026.
The festival runs select evenings with entry from 7 to 10 p.m. nightly, with the route closing at 11:30 p.m. Advance tickets start at $20 for adults and $16 for children and seniors, though prices are higher if purchased at the gate. This is truly an event for all ages—families, friend groups, and couples all find something to enjoy. The Conservation Carousel operates during the event (weather permitting), and limited strollers, wagons, and wheelchairs are available to rent. The zoo remains open rain or shine, though severe weather may prompt closures. Parking is $7 and must be added to your ticket order.
